Summary: A SaaS Guest Posting Case Study – How these 11 SaaS websites increase their Organic Traffic up to 13% – 126% in just a Month with SaaSLaunchr Exclusive Link Building.
To do guest blogs or not to do guest blogs?
Those who are struggling in the digital marketing race think about it. Those who are frontrunners do it.
But hey, it’s quite understandable if you have some doubts about content marketing tactics you find on the internet. This includes guest posting as a strategy. That is why we came up with our first case study on the effect of guest posting in increasing the monthly organic traffic of a website.
The results were positive across all the SaaS websites that participated in our first collaborative blog outreach campaign. There was a 14-95% increase in monthly organic traffic on our collaborators’ websites. But was this increase really from OUR efforts? Or was it beginner’s luck or something else?
To validate the results of our first campaign, we arranged a second collaborative blog outreach. This time, we included 11 highly recommended marketing automation tools. So, in this case, study, we will discuss the following:
- The importance of guest posting for your SaaS company
- The importance of E-A-T rich content
- Challenges, solution, and results of the second case study
- Takeaways
Importance of Guest Posting
How important is guest posting for your SaaS company right now? Here are the three most important benefits:
1. It’s great exposure for your website.
Submitting a blog post to other blogs lets you touch base with their audience. This is a way to promote brand awareness for the product or service that you are selling, especially if there are other potential prospects who are hearing about your brand for the first time.
For example, if you are a SaaS company selling an online graphic design tool, you can reach out to Just Creative, a branding agency led by Jacob Cass. Just Creative has a monthly average traffic of more than 200k and is a DA67 website. Publishing your article on the agency’s blog will give you exposure to a similar target audience – users interested in graphics and design.
2. It helps build backlinks for your site.
Guest posting is a reliable way to build “healthy” backlinks to your website. Most of the blogs accepting guest posts allow one anchor text link in the body. Others allow do-follow hyperlinks only in the author’s bio. How powerful is guest posting nowadays?
One link from an authoritative website can boost your SEO efforts in addition to brand exposure and traffic generation. And if you want to really make a difference in your keyword rankings, building backlinks over time through guest posting is the best thing you can do.

3. It boosts monthly organic traffic.
No traffic = no profits.
If your article is published on a relevant website with high authority, you can expect a spate of visitors to your target page. Whether you are doing it on your own or you are getting guest posting services from a third-party provider, publishing a guest post can give your product exposure and traffic. The key here is choosing the proper website to publish your article.
As we have mentioned in our case study, find niche-related websites with at least 10k traffic and with DA40 or more, preferably. If you create top-quality content, you can expect a significant number of visitors to flow to your site once it gets published. You can maximize this strategy by optimizing your target landing page or sales page first, before even starting the blog outreach campaign. Effective web copy and targeted CTAs will increase your chances for conversion.
Importance of E-A-T Rich Content
A huge part of our guest posting service is producing E-A-T rich content.
E-A-T is an acronym for Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness. It is a principle of writing content that is useful for readers and valuable for Google.
This concept originated from Google’s Search Quality Guidelines and gained much attention in August 2018. Google uses E-A-T to evaluate the quality of an online page.
So why is creating E-A-T-rich content important?
Google can determine if a page is credible using the E-A-T principle. Does the content on the page create real value for visitors? The search engine wants to feature content that makes people stay on the page or make them come back.
According to Google Webmaster Central Blog, E-A-T is not a direct ranking factor but it uses a mix of these criteria and other different signals to rank top-quality content. So if you are adhering to the principles of Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness, you have everything to gain and nothing to lose.
At SaaSLaunchr, we consider E-A-T as an important basis for making content. As such, creating E-A-T-rich blog posts is an important part of our guest posting service strategy.
Validating Our Previous Results – SaaSLaunchr’s 2nd Blog Outreach Case Study
We love testing new ideas. We also recognize that there are a lot of things to learn in the online space. That is why when we completed our first case study, we did not stop there.
We launched a second collaborative outreach to check if we will still get the same results as last time.
The Challenge
We needed to validate the data to make sure it really works.
Why validate?
Validating our results means assuring the accuracy and details of the data we first had. This is important to bring clarity to our work and avoid misinformation. If we don’t validate data, we run the risk of making inaccurate conclusions.
The Solution
We conducted a second collaborative blog outreach campaign to prove that our method works. The SaaSLaunchr collaborative blog outreach is a guest posting campaign that calls on sponsors who will share the content creation expense and editorial fees.
We planned to involve ten SaaS companies in the second guest post outreach. Fortunately for us, some of the participants in the first campaign wanted to join again in the second. So, this time around, we catered to 11 SaaS companies.
We submitted 10 E-A-T rich articles about the “Best Marketing Automation Tools to Make Your Workflow Faster and Easier” to high-authority DA sites. We started the campaign on December 3 and ended on December 23. All the guest posts were successfully published and like in the first blog outreach, we added some bonus guest posts.
Here is the final report for our second collaborative blog outreach campaign:
The Results
To validate our previous case study, we have to see a similar upward trend across all participants after the end of the campaign.
Here is the data for each company:
Disclaimer: We do not have access to each company’s Google Search Console or Google Analytics and the data is based on AHREFs.
